Chinese New Year Blog Hop

Welcome to the Chinese New Year Blog Hop! I'm so glad you could join us. The Year of the Snake officially begins on Sunday, February 10th so be sure to wish all your Chinese friends longevity, happiness, wealth and good fortune during this two-week festival!

My traditions involve getting together with family for a big meal, enjoying many sweets and give little ones red envelopes.  I especially love that living in Seattle, Chinese New Year is becoming more aware.  Both my kindergartener and preschooler are having a celebration at their school today.

Now, how 'bout a few cards using the free digis created especially for this occasion?

First card is created using Lanterns hanging from cherry blossoms by Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  Hero Arts envelope background was heat embossed on black card stock.  White cherry blossoms were made with an old and still well loved punch.

The second card used Snake in frame by Dahlhouse Designs.  I painted snake a different color in Photoshop and put it behind a Polaroid frame.  Lawn Fawn chevron was stamped in Galaxy Gold.

Next card used Girl with fireworks by Angie Blom Designs.  Sentiment was Avery Elle's new release Good fortune set.

I also colored Sassy snake with flowers by Lisa Hetrick Designs in Photoshop to match the paper I used.  Then added a little gold glitter glue.  I used same sentiment from Avery Elle's Good Fortune.

My last card used Chinese New Year Rin by Sparkle Creations.  I put the sentiment inside.
