Britta's Birthday Blog Hop

Today the girls from Young Crafters Unite are having a surprise blog hop for Britta's birthday.  Britta is such a talented and sweet young woman.  Wish you best for the coming year, Britta. 

I know Britta loves Lawn Fawn stamps.  So I used some of my Lawn Fawn stamps that I have not used for awhile to make this birthday card.  The card is already on its way to Britta.

I stamped the chevron background on the aquamarine card base with Fresh ink Island.  Ferris wheel was stamped on the speckled card stock and colored with copics.  The Polaroid frame was cut from the pure white card stock.

CASE Study Challenge #118

 

This is Angeline's card to case this week at CASE study challenge.  Isn't the stamping gorgeous?  I love how she used different shades of ink and stamped around the sentiment.

I used the same layout with the Christmas sentiment in the middle and stamped a bunch of small stamps from various stamp set around to make a one-layer holiday card.

Young Crafter Unite Challenge #16: Happy Holidays

This month at CASE study,  the muse is fabulous Angeline Young.  She is one of my favorite designer.  Her elegant CAS style is impeccable.  I was hoping to play along since the beginning of the month.  Of course I already missed the first two challenges. 

This week we are casing this card of hers.  I love the symmetric stamping and the dimension of the layered mother and baby birds.

Here is my interpretation.  I used the same theme and layout of Angeline's card.  I stamped Avery Elle ikat pattern in famine colors and die cut the bird in cork.

Ten minutes Craft Dash Challenge #6

 

Today, Avery Elle sponsors the 10 minute craft dash challenge using the colors in the above graphics.  I am the slowest card maker. I can say I am pretty fast and efficient in many other areas.  But not when it comes to card making, it takes me hours to make one card.  This is definitely a challenge to me. 

So before I started, I read the tips and tricks Paulina put together.  And I came up a few more strategies might work for me - use only card stock, no patterned paper since it always takes me even more time if I use patterned paper; keep it one layer; use stamp with bigger image to cut down the time for stamping; use stamps that I used before and am comfortable with.

With these in minds, I pulled out the stamps, the inks and the card that I already cut and scored, and set the timer. Stamping went pretty smooth. It was done under 9 minutes!

Avery Elle November Release final day

Welcome to the final day of Avery Elle November release.  The stamp sets are available today. 

I have one more project to share today.  It is a quick Advent calendar using Count on it.  I was thinking about make muslin bags like this and maybe reuse it again.  But I am pretty sure I am not going to use it again.  So I used glassine bags instead.

I die cut some polka dot papers as the cover and stamped the number on the circle die cuts.  I'm still working on what to put inside the bags and what to write on the cards.  I am thinking about include lots Christmas scavenger hunt since my kids love scavenger hunt.  Any ideas are welcome.

Avery Elle November Release Day 2

Welcome to the second day of Avery Elle November release.  The stamp set we are featuring is Lovely Letters.  It is a very elegant font.  I love it also includes numbers and there are two versions of small case k and y.

The bases of the Lovely Letters set are designed so that they can be used to line up the individual stamps with one another. If they are stamped individually, they can be linked together to form a "seamless" word with no space between the letters.

Halloween is over and I am starting to plan for Thanksgiving.  Lovely Letters are perfect for some quick place cards.

The second project is a set of monogram stationary cards for my sister-in-law who is getting married next July.  I am super excited for them.  Their wedding colors are lavender and mint.  Isn't that so fresh and trendy!

I used Fanfare set for the background.  I also made the package for the cards.

Avery Elle November Release Day 1

Hope everybody had lots of spooky fun yesterday.  I am sending my thoughts to all those affected by Sandy.

Today is the first day of Avery Elle November release.  We are featuring Warm Wishes stamp set.  Here is the stamp set.  There is also free svg file available as well for this set.

For my first card, I used one of the Christmas lights image and stamped the strings of Christmas lights.  The lines used to hang the lights is from another set of the release.

The second card is a Christmas wreath stamped with the small stamp in the set as well - the holly and leaves.  I used three different shades of green for the leaves.  Then I added red stickles to the hollies.

A Christmas mantel was die cut using the svg file for the third card. Then the mantel was stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used golden glitter paper to die cut the letters as the decoration for my mantel.
