Runway Inspired Challenge #2

Hello, my fellow blogging friends.  I have a card for Runway Inspired Challenge #2.

The inspiration for RIC #2 was a picture from Fendi Spring 2012 at Milan Fashion week.  The stripped runway made me want to pull out the PTI chevron stripes background stamp.  The chevron stripes was stamped in grey color.  Maya Road cameo and frame was stamped in black. I gave my model a green necklace as a nod to the green purse in the picture.

A card and a winner

A quick post to share a card for the current challenge at Embellish Blog.  I was bummed to miss the last one and so I am determined not to miss this one.

Here is the inspiration picture for Embellish Mixed Patterns Color Trends Challenge.

For my card, I used Hero Arts envelope background stamp on the card base.  I should use this stamp more often!  Houndstooth was stamped with VersaMark on green card stock stripe.  The third pattern was from My Minds Eye patterned paper. 

It was also entered into Wee Memories Challenge 80: Anything goes and Simon Says Challenge: Anything Goes.

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

Hello!  How was everyone's Christmas?  Mine was wonderful except for a temporary power outage caused by a wind storm. But it did not seem damped my kids' spirit at all.  Luckily, we got the power back by late afternoon.

Here's a card that I just finished for PTI December leftover blog hop. The theme aptly named "Holiday left over".

I had a bunch of Christmas photo cards left that we made with our kids photo.  Do you see Tigger and Pooh on the card?  They are my kids' faves!

A card and a Giveaway

I am sharing a 'Thank you card' that I made last night. 

As a new and proud owner of the fabulous Copic markers, I have yet need to learn all its wonderful magic.  A Copic class is on my 'to-do list', but time is an elusive commodity.

I tried different permutations to my approach--accenting the outline with a grey border; and juxtaposing greys and yellows. The above is what came forth from my brew.  The Hero Arts rose background was stamped with my Jenni Bowlin Lemon drop dye ink, and my sentiment was stamped in Memento London Fog.  The yellow card stock was Paper Trey Ink Lemon tart. The grey card stock was from Michael's. It is lighter than Paper trey ink smokey shadow.  I am looking for a grey card stock that is a touch lighter than this. Any suggestions out there?

It includes a copy of Jan/Feb issue of Paper Crafts magazine, which has my first published card.  I was so thrilled to see it on the magazine.  It was my first time submitting to the magazine, and one of the four cards submitted was picked up!

Butterfly Thank You

Today's card is a quick Thank you card.  Music background was stamped on the card base. Clouds were die cut from the top panel.  Butterfly was stamped and cut out.  I added some blue stickle and a blue rhinestone sticker.

It was inspired by the current Play Date Cafe challenge using black, white and a splash of teal.

Tuesday Trigger: A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hello, hope everybody is having a great weekend.  I'm having a ball, especially with this challenge!

My card today was inspired by Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

I was inspired by the silver embroidered outline and the delicate color of the partridge. Jenni Bowlin butterfly was stamped in metallic silver pigment ink on blue card stock and cut out. I included a Music background, stamped in metallic silver ink, to add musicality to my fluttering butterfly. It was difficult to capture the silvery tones of my card with my camera.

Maybe this picture shows the metallic silver ink better.

Purple ornament holiday card

I have a non-traditional color holiday card to share today.  I won the Market Street Flurries a couple weeks ago and love the beautiful snowflake background.  I used it on a tag a few days ago.  It inks very well and produces the delicate detailed snowflakes.

For today's card, I die cut three ornaments and stamped Flurries to embellish my ornaments.

Colors used are from Market Street paint the town color challenge.

It was also inspired by the ornaments on the current Jay Gee's Nook Challenge #14 inspiration photo.

It was also entered into St Luke's Let it Snow challenge.

Runway Inspired #1: Versace Spring 2012

Hello.  Today's card is for Runway Inspired Challenge.  Below is the gorgeous inspiration picture.  I took inspiration from the yellow dress and lights on the runway.  Mat stack was die cut from PTI select white.  Then I stamped the flowers, leaves, dots from PTI day dreamers in Fresh Ink Mango which is inspired by the dress.   The sentiment was stamped in Memento London Fog. If you look closely you can see three scored lines on the lower half of the card base .

I used the sketch from Simon says stamp.  You can tell it is a very simplified version.

The  Papertrey ink Tag sale #3 is one of the new dies I got recently and I can't stop using it.  Love the simplicity and embossed dots of the tag.

When I create, I often have my kids in mind.  There are always birthday parties need to go to.  This little tag will be perfect addition to gift wrapping for birthday present.

Get Inspired: Fashion Challenge

A quick post of my card for Card Creations: Get Inspired by Fashion Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

I used Vintage cream cardstock for card base to resemble the cream background for the coat.  My mind's eye patterned paper was die cut with mat stack.  I altered the Prisma burlap flower by taking out the brown flower center and replacing it with a pearl brad.  The soft cream and light green color combo is perfect for a baby card.

I used Kitty in present and created a gift tag and a fabric gift bag.

Here is picture of gift tag.  Kitty was colored with watercolor pencil.  Present was paper-pieced. It is pretty tiny to paper-piece.  I added glitter to the bottom white part of the tag to make it look snowy.  The snowflake is Market Street Flurries background stamp I won a couple weeks ago.

The fabric bag was made from muslin. It is about 5" by 7".  I am planning to put a couple kids' books in there to give as Christmas present. It is so easy to stamp on muslin.  I am really happy with the result of dye ink on fabric.
