Boy Birthday Card

Most of my older son's friends are turning five.  I made a boy birthday card to add to my stash of kids birthday card. 

I used Echo Park papers and die cut on the front of the card.  The sentiment was stamped inside.

Embellish Paint or Mist Color Trends Challenge

Over the past few weeks, it seems every Friday I had an ambitious plan of craft projects for weekend.  Then I did not get a chance to make anything.  I really hope this trend will change pretty soon.  Any way, here is my card for the current challenge at Embellish.

The color seems a little bit off on the screen. I got some Hambly Screen print tapes and can't wait to play with them.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

The current Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge photo looks so delicious.  I decided to join the fun.

I used the pretty phases stamp and a free digi flower. I have been admiring Karen's misted/sprayed cards.  I wanted to give it a try.  Well, it turned out that misting is not just pressing down the button.  You won't believe how many cardstocks I misted before I got this one.  But it is addictive, I will definitely mist again in the new future.  Two sizes of the digi flowers were printed out, fuzzy cut and layered for dimension.

It is also entered into current Wee Memories challenge - No Patterned Paper.

CAS-ual Fridays #20: Mini cards

I got a new Jenni Bowlin butterfly stamp and wanted to play the current CAS-ual Fridays #20 and make a set of mini cards.  All the cards are 3.5 x 3.5 in.

I tried out a variety of different embossing powder colors with this butterfly stamp.  The first card was embossed with black embossing powder and colored with markers.

The second was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The third was detailed white embossing powder.  It is the one I like most in real life.

Lastly I tried calico approach by using several embossing powder.  It is kind of messy.  But I like the result.

Bows and Berries challenge #10

I have good news! I'm joining the Bows and Berries design team! When Robin e-mailed, I was super excited...Of course I said yes!
Today, Bows and Berries is having a new challenge using GLITTER.  I used this cute circus seal and made a CAS card.

Great part of using digital stamp is I can make it big or small, I can flip it, rotate it and also using a lot other technique I can use on a regular stamp.  I decided to let my seal facing right and give him some fun dots by flipping and printing on patterned paper. I paper pieced, colored and also used glitter on his seat and ball.  Sentiment is from Amuse.  I got this card stock for awhile and haven't used it.  The color speckles add some more celebration atmosphere to the card.

Fall Grateful Card with Acrylic paint stamping

I tried the technique featured on Paper Trey Ink Make it Monday -  stamping with acrylic paint.  I recently painted bird house with my kids and still had a bunch of acrylic paint left.

I went through my PTI stamps to find a stamp works better with acrylic paint. I realized that none of my PTI stamps were good candidates to stamp with acrylic paint.  Then I looked through other stamps and only one with solid a image was an Amuse leafy branch.  I used three different colors of acrylic paint to create the fall foliage image.  PTI signature greeting was prefect for this card.  Since it was a one layer card, it was also entered into Wee Memories current challenge #67 - one layer creation.

I used Make-The-Cut again and made a card for Moxie Fab World Horizontal Sketch Challenge.  The squares and the little vase were cut with the software.

Popped up Butterfly Celebrate Card

I haven't made a shaped card for a long time. Today I have a little number for Moxie Fab World shaped sketch challenge.

I used Make-The-Cut to cut the butterfly from patterned papers. I did one complete cut for the top layer, and one incomplete cut for the bottom layer to help the butterfly pop up.  I love the effect that the butterfly is 3-D, and that you can also see the paper underneath.

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Nice and Neutral

I made a card for the current Embellish Magazine Embossed flowers color trends challenge a few days ago.  I am not sure I got the color in between red and green right.  Here is my second try.  I also used Skipping stone design sketch #91 by Teri Anderson.

Flowers were embossed with Martha Stewart embossing powder. DeName tiny star background was stamped in antique linen.  Another flower was embossed, fussy cut, and popped up with foam tape.
