A card and a Giveaway
I am sharing a 'Thank you card' that I made last night.
As a new and proud owner of the fabulous Copic markers, I have yet need to learn all its wonderful magic. A Copic class is on my 'to-do list', but time is an elusive commodity.
I tried different permutations to my approach--accenting the outline with a grey border; and juxtaposing greys and yellows. The above is what came forth from my brew. The Hero Arts rose background was stamped with my Jenni Bowlin Lemon drop dye ink, and my sentiment was stamped in Memento London Fog. The yellow card stock was Paper Trey Ink Lemon tart. The grey card stock was from Michael's. It is lighter than Paper trey ink smokey shadow. I am looking for a grey card stock that is a touch lighter than this. Any suggestions out there?
Now the giveaway.
It includes a copy of Jan/Feb issue of Paper Crafts magazine, which has my first published card. I was so thrilled to see it on the magazine. It was my first time submitting to the magazine, and one of the four cards submitted was picked up!
The other crafting goodies that included are: Amuse studio Peace background stamp, Jenni Bowlin vintage-style wooden spools, Jenni Bowlin plain chipboard elements (star), Jenni Bowlin classic foam stamps, American Crafts Thickers (chit chat), and some SRM stickers.
Leave a comment here by Dec 27th, and I will select one random winner. It opens to everyone, including my international friends!
Have a wonderful holiday season everyone! Pin It

Beautiful card. Congratulations on having one of your cards picked up for publication! :)
Saw this elegant over Flickr and I love it! Congrats on your pub (yay, we both in it)! No need to enter me in the draw. I just want to congratulate you!
Your first pub? No way! How is that even possible? Well, it's the first of many, I'm sure. I love your card here, too. You work wonders with yellow! And I'm with you on the gray cardstock. There is no good medium gray! SU's is too dark, and the two PTI options are too dark and too light. I want something in between!
I came here to thank you for your comment on my card, and see that you have a thank you card posted. How funny. It is a beautiful card, and I think you are doing incredibly well with your copics. I have a bunch, and mostly count on my 14 year old daughter to do my coloring. Congratulations on your card being published. I'm sure that there will be many more.
Oh my gracious Chunyuan! This is gorgeous!
What a beautiful card! Congratulations on your publication too! The first of many I presume. I wonder if Bazzill manufactures a good grey that you might like?
Once you learn how to shade with them you will be hooked on Copics. I know I am and I am still learning. I have a tip for you. Take a 8 1/2 x 11' white cardstock and put a little of each color on it with the name and # of the Copic. It makes it easier to know what you want to use. I get mine out all the time. r sharing your card. Edwina Brown
Classic elegance! :)
Congrats on being published...the first of many I'm certain! You make such classy understated cards...I love your style! :)
congrats on being published! i can't wait to see your card!!! :) your work is always so beautiful, so i know we'll be seeing so many more of your creations in print. this card is stunning...the yellow is so pretty against the gray. i just got the most amazing gray from clear & simple stamps...such a gray-cious host...it's pretty! thanks for the chance to win :)
First of all I just adore this card Chunyuan, love the intricate image on the CAS design! As for the grey cardstock - I really like Bazzill - Smoky (not sure if it's too light for you).
Congrats on your publication, I'm sure it'll be the first of many! And finally, thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!
I like your simple style and am impressed with the use of yellow. I like yellow but have a hard time figuring out how to use it in a subtle and pretty way like you have done on this card.
This is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the colors and the flowers are amazing in yellow. LOVE your card!
Congrats on your publication too!!!
Merry Christmas wishes / Karin
Can't wait to see your card in the magazine! How exciting! Congratulations!
